As a Bay Area native living in Canada, I get asked almost daily, "Do you miss the weather?" Instead of trying to explain the nuances between Southern and Northern California climates, I may just start playing people "Bay Area Blues" off of Zacky's All The Time EP. The B2 from the man behind the San Francisco label and record shop Nice Timing perfectly captures the feel of one of the Bay's perennially overcast mornings. The drums have a bit of a rocky edge while the organ-adjacent chords battle with an acid line trying to break through. It's a bit like watching the fog slowly recede down the Presidio.
