Kitchen Cynics - Dr MacQueen Feeds The Media Frenzy

  • A haunting song about Aberdeen's 1964 lockdown.
  • Delen
  • In 1964, Aberdeen was brought to its knees by a typhoid outbreak. In 2008, Alan Davidson self-released a low-key album about it, a childhood moment he remembers fondly for the schools being closed. In December 2020, amid a much larger scale outbreak, The Trilogy Tapes reissued a track from the album. "Dr MacQueen Feeds The Media Frenzy" appears on a new LP of archival material from Kitchen Cynics, an Aberdeen local who has released almost 100 albums of folk and electronica since 1988. It’s a gorgeous, slippery vignette of delayed guitar and droning synth. High quality digging from The Trilogy Tapes.
