- The Danish producer offers a twisted spin on mchiruku, a style of Tanzanian dance music.
- In the Kinondoni district of Dar Es Salaam, the band Jamaica Mnanda is a regular fixture on the streets. Their DIY performances often lead to impromptu parties focused on the percussion-heavy sounds of mchiruku. The title track from their debut EP, Maskini Naye Mtu (the poor are also human), maintains the hip-shaking momentum of their shows but under B-Knudsen's watch it's deconstructed into irregular footwork patterns. B-Knudsen (who also makes techno as CTRLS) transforms mchiruku's organic spirit into a menacing battle-cry—club-ready but retaining the group's distinctive sparse instrumentation.
