Toyshop feat. Anita Kelsey – Million Miles (Disc One)

  • Next up on Sunkissed is a nice summer collection, first up with the first disc of Toyshop feat. Anita Kelsey and the vocal delights of Million Miles. On the first disc is the lovely Hamel & Jameison Vocal mix as well as the Original. On the a-side is the Hamel & Jameison Vocal Mix, and it’s a classic vocal progressive production. Rippling melodies ticker throughout as well as a pretty solid baseline that rides the production subtly in the background. The vocal is heavily featured in this mix of course, and for me they work a lot better then the original, which I will discuss. The vocal is quite nice, but definitely not as impressive as Anita’s vocal performance in D*Note’s ‘Shed My Skin’. The Original Mix combines the vocal quite nicely with a set of broken beats and a very lovely set of string patterns. It is here where you appreciate the Jamieson and Hamel mix, as they introduced the melodies to work amazingly with the vocal, something that may be a little lacking in the original here. Nevertheless, the drums work quite nicely as well as the bass tones in the production. A pretty nice release here for Sunkissed that as they say, might be one more for the ‘ladies’ with Anita’s vocal playing a major role, especially in the first disc.
