- Next up on Bedrock Breaks is an original cut from the Bedrock duo themselves that has been doing the rounds for the last year or so. Digweed & Muir turn their attention to the melodic Breaks front with Forge, and the release also sees the very much in form Fretwell work his remix magic on the flip.
The Original mix begins with some smooth atmospheric sounds as the production takes a chilled approach early on. For the main bulk, the track works around a smooth breakbeat pattern and melodic arpeggiated sounds. The focus is put on the melodies midway through as the track takes a long breakdown, demonstrating the delicacies of the production. The beats come in again taking the production to its peak, which sees a very subtle baseline go to work as well.
The Fretwell Mix is a little more intense then the original as the production builds with a great merging of beats, atmospheric elements, and a smooth baseline. The main melody features in little doses throughout but the highlight of this remix is the great flow it has as well as the beautiful culmination of all the sounds.
A great release for Bedrock breaks, and another landmark remix for Fretwell who continues to impress. The original Bedrock mix also serves its purpose and will be a treat fro those who have been eagerly waiting its long overdue release.
