Grace Jones, YMO and Massive Attack themselves will perform at London’s Meltdown Festival this summer.
The Bristol trip-hoppers follow in the footsteps of David Bowie, Morrissey and Jarvis Cocker as curators of the festival, which happens at the South Bank Centre the week from June 14th. This year’s program include concerts by Yellow Magic Orchestra, Mark Stewart & The Mafia, Adrian Sherwood, Gong, Martina Topley-Bird, Grace Jones and Massive Attack, as well as an orchestral performance of Vangelis’ soundtrack to Blade Runner which will be mixed by Massive Attack. There will also be four nights of ‘Silent Disco’ featuring DJ sets from the likes of Peaches and Four Tet with more names to be announced, as well as various reggae parties and music-related film screenings happening around the Southbank Centre.
Tickets for this one are on sale from Thursday, but best to get in fast as it sells out very quickly.
