Luciano returns with his first new material on Cadenza in a year. 'Études Électroniques' is out this month.
You'd have to look back ten releases to find a Luciano record on his own label - 'Solomon's Prayer' came out in May 2006 - doesn't time fly? Since then Cadenza has concentrated on lengthy, psychedelic grooves with a Latin feel from the likes of Pikaya, Loco Dice, Argenis Brito, Alejandro Vivanco and Petre Inspirescu, and 'Études Électroniques' promises four tracks in a similar vein. A first listen confirms that 'Fochedrem' is a slow builder with airy pads, 'Fochedrem' has a cut-up, microhouse feel, while 'Masalla' and 'Nunca Tiene Bastante' feature congas, Latin-rhythms, in the case of the former, even a bit of jazz guitar.
