- Their self-titled debut album arrives August 19th via City Slang.
Morgan Geist has teamed up with long-time friend and collaborator Kelley Polar to form a new project called Au Suisse.
Their self-titled debut album arrives via Berlin-based label City Slang on August 19th. Across nine tracks, Au Suisse sees the pair breaking from their usual habits, exploring elements of synth pop, disco, post-punk and funk across nine tracks.
"A prime motivator was trying to eschew the roles we both fell into in our prior working relationship," Geist said. "I wouldn't be making things more dance floor-friendly, and Kelley wouldn't be doing huge string arrangements."
The founder of the prolific Ohio-born house and techno label Environ Records, Geist hasn't released an album since 2008's Double Night Time. He revived his Storm Queen alias in 2021 with a 12-inch, For A Fool, on Full Frequency Range Recordings. Polar's most recent full-length release was 2007's I Need You To Hold On While The Sky Is Falling, which Geist co-produced.
