  • Black Artist Database (B.A.D) has revealed a year-long series of free production masterclasses in partnership with Ableton. The series will be open to Black-identifying producers (although no prior experience in production is required), and will be held online. The hosts of the first four masterclasses have been announced: Loraine James, Russell E.L. Butler, KMRU and rRoxymore. Ableton certified trainers will be supporting each interactive session. Each class will have three hundred spaces available, and B.A.D encourage aspiring producers from across the global diaspora to register. Sign up to the series here. Registration closes August 16th at 5pm BST. The first four sessions will be: • "How to turn your production into a live performance" with Loraine James, August 24th at 5PM (BST). • "Bus processing premasters" with Russell E. L. Butler, September 28th at 5PM (BST). • "Field recording as a compositional tool" with KMRU, October 26th at 5PM (BST). • "An intro to Live" with rRoxymore, November 23rd at 5PM (BST). Registration closes on August 16th at 5PM BST. In May 2021, Black Bandcamp relaunched as B.A.D. RA spoke with cofounder Niks Delanancy about the platform's relaunch.
