- The electroacoustic trio will put out Dissent, its first album in six years, on BMG's Modern Recordings in early August.
The reconstituted Moritz Von Oswald Trio will release its first album in six years, Dissent, on BMG's Modern Recordings imprint on August 6th.
For the latest record, von Oswald, whose collaborators span from Mark Ernestus to Juan Atkins to the late Tony Allen, worked with Laurel Halo and the jazz drummer Heinrich Köbberling. In line with previous MVOT records, Dissent was recorded in Berlin in November and December 2020 then edited down from a series of extended jams.
"With the trio shifting towards stable foundations in noise and groove, the dance beckons, recalling some of techno's jazzier inclinations while veering untethered towards into unfamiliar territory," reads the press release.
