Vote - Radio One Gilles Peterson Worldwide Music Awards 2005 The Awards Show The Radio One Gilles Peterson Worldwide Music Awards event will be hosted at Koko in Camden on Monday December 12th. On the topic of the event Gilles said:
"We have been doing the Worldwide Winners on Radio 1 for a good few years now and it gets a huge response from listeners. Last year we took it to the next level with the first physical event at Cargo with performances from SA RA among others. This year the event comes from the much larger venue KOKO with a killer line-up. I'm delighted that this annual event has become a fixture in the musical calendar. My main aim is to draw attention to the musical scene that is championed every week on 'Worldwide'."
The awards night will play see a performance from the hot Japan's Soil & "Pimp" Sessions, a very special yet unannounced guest as well as 'The Worldwide All-Star Selectors' which is comprised of more than twenty DJs including Jazzanova, Bugz in the Attic, Norman Jay, Patrick Forge, Fabio, Benji B, Skitz, Quantic, Toshio Matsuura, Charlie Dark and a bundle of others each playing their favourite 'Worldwide track of the year'. This will be followed by Gilles Peterson who will spin the winning track as voted for by Radio 1 listeners. Full Event Details below. And last but not least, for those of you in the Gilles groove, Petterson is presenting the BBC Sessions's Future Sound of Jazz at the Barbican (in the Barbican Hall) on Sunday (Nov 20).
