  • Larry Heard's 1994 album, Sceneries Not Songs, Volume 1, will be reissued for the first time on his own Alleviated Records. Originally released on Black Market International, the New Age-influenced record marked a prominent shift from Heard's previous releases, merging house with ambient and jazz. The LP was the Chicago house great's first major release under his given name, following a slew of projects released as Mr. Fingers, and goes for upwards of $100 on the secondhand market. The forthcoming reissue will be pressed as a double-LP and features an additional track, "Question Of Time," which was previously only available on CD. It's out on August 24th.
