- The 17-track double-LP is out on September 18th.
Sarah Davachi is starting a new label called Late Music.
Its first release is Cantus, Descant, a 17-track double-LP out on September 18th. On two of the tracks, Davachi features her own vocals—a first.
"The pervading affect on the album is one that gives reverence to the suspension, the epoché, a space where we welcome and attempt to reconcile impermanence," Davachi says. "It is an opportunity to go inside—oneself, one's sound—in order to simultaneously commune with our comforts and that which we mourn, perhaps not unlike the function of a hymn."
So far this year, Davachi has shared two releases for the March and May Bandcamp no-fees days, led the launch of Boomkat's new Documenting Sound series, and contributed to a compilation centered on field-recordings of an endangered bat.
