- Here's a timeline of how the spread of COVID-19 led to a wave of closures and cancellations worldwide.
This interactive map shows the impact the novel coronavirus pandemic, AKA COVID-19, has had on electronic music scenes around the world.
The map includes the majority of clubs, venues and festivals forced to cancel or postpone due to the ongoing crisis. The timeline function shows how it has escalated in a matter of weeks, starting in China before causing outbreaks in other parts of Asia, Italy, Spain and the UK.
Several countries, including Germany, Italy and France, are currently on lockdown, with all clubs, bars and venues closed for the foreseeable future.
Each dot on the map represents a venue or festival. Hit the play button to see how the pandemic has decimated electronic music scenes across the globe.
This graph shows how the rate of closures and cancellations ballooned in a matter of days. The y-axis is "number of venues" and the x-axis is "time."
