Next up from NAAFI is an album by Wasted Fates called Turbio, out next week.
It follows the Mexico City-based producer's NAAFI debut, an EP called Mundialero from last year. Stylistically, it incorporates regional club rhythms like dembow, gqom, dancehall and grime. "Each songs has a similar motive," the label says, "a desperate search for tonality and sentiment from behind a curtain of smoke. The harmonies give us a feeling of tension, desperation or even rage."
NAAFI started off 2019 with a collaborative EP from Taso and Siete Catorce called Grandes Éxitos (Vol. 1) ("Greatest Hits, Vol. 1").
