- ODOODO is out at the end of this month.
Foodman's next release comes via Mad Decent.
ODOODO, whose title translates roughly to "nervous," features seven new tracks, including a collaboration with Tokyo artist Ryuw. Foodman chose the title because of its onomatopoeic quality as well as the way it looks like "a string of circles and semi-circles." The cover artwork from Joe Bastardo, prominently featuring the title, is meant to get across the "playfulness... omnipresent in Foodman's productions."
This is the Japanese artist's first full release on Diplo's label after a string of tracks were posted to Mad Decent's YouTube channel over the last few years. Other recent records have come via Sun Ark and Palto Flats, among other labels.
Watch the video for "Moyashi Kids."
Foodman also took us on a trip through his hometown of Nagoya for our recent Japan City guides feature.
