He'll play alongside Tokyo's DJ Fulltono at eight gigs in the states this month.
Japanese producer ?????, AKA Foodman will head to the states in December.
Yokohama-based artist Takahide Higuchi is a prolific experimental producer whose music draws inspiration from Chicago juke and footwork. He works closely with Osaka's DJ Fulltono, who runs Booty Tune Records, the country's main outlet for footwork music and the bass music strains that have grown out of it.
Foodman and Fulltono will tour together starting this Saturday in Portland, where they'll play alongside recent RVNG signees Visible Cloaks. Next up is Seattle's Timbre Room, followed by Los Angeles for Low End Theory on the 7th and Chicago's Empty Bottle on the 8th. Then it's New York City, where they'll be joined by Motion Graphics, whose debut album from this summer was heavily inspired by Japanese electronic music. The tour will close with stops in Boston, Providence and one last gig in Los Angeles.
RA editor Ryan Keeling explored Foodman's catalogue in a feature article earlier this year. Read that here.
