New York's Discwoman crew is also in the midst of a European tour that runs till mid-September.
Room 4 Resistance will co-host a panel in Berlin with HOT TOPIC and Discwoman.
Going down at Schwuz on Friday, August 19th, the panel will cover two main topics: "How to bring politics to the dance floor" and "Political activism in dance music today." To discuss them, a group of speakers that includes The Black Madonna, rRoxymore, Frankie Hutchinson, Avril Ceballos and Luz has been assembled. After the panel, which begins at 11 PM, there will be a party with Luz, Dr. Sleep and Yuko Asanuma all confirmed to play.
The Brooklyn-based Discwoman collective is also in the midst of a European tour, with a roster that includes techno selectors Umfang and Volvox as well as the more club-oriented Bearcat and DJ Haram. The former are booked for De School in Amsterdam this weekend—the same date as the Room 4 Resistance panel in Berlin. Meanwhile, Bearcat and Haram are headed to Paris and London, followed by Kraków, where Umfang and Volvox will join the lineup for an Unsound boat cruise.
The tour continues for all four artists with gigs in Barcelona, Warsaw, Madrid, London, Helsinki, Lyon and Leipzig, where Haram will play Institut Fuer Zukunft. They'll close it out with one last stop in Berlin, with Umfang and Volvox spinning at Berghain/Panorama Bar on September 11th.
Watch our recent film with The Black Madonna, which touches upon some of the topics likely to be discussed at the upcoming panel.
