- Sounds Of Beaubien Ouest is a new Montreal imprint, and the first release is out in June.
Patrick Holland, AKA Project Pablo, is launching a new record label called SOBO.
SOBO stands for Sounds Of Beaubien Ouest, the area of Montreal that the Canadian producer (originally from Vancouver) resides in. The new label is a joint venture from him and Sebastian Cowan, who also runs Arbutus Records, an imprint associated with acts like Blue Hawaii, Braids and formerly, Grimes (it's also based in Beaubien Ouest). This first release is a three-tracker from Project Pablo himself, Beaubien Dream, in Holland's typically laid-back house style, and you can stream A-side cut "Closer" below. Beaubien Dream follows Holland's recent EP for Lone's Magicwire label, as well as records for Church and 1080p.
