- Heavy on material from Cisco Ferreira himself, the digital compilation collects tracks that were previously unavailable on the format, along with a few unreleased cuts.
The Advent's label Kombination Research has announced details for its landmark 100th release, a digital compilation that's due to land in January of next year.
Collection 100 is focused on productions from The Advent, originally a collaboration between Cisco Ferreira and Colin McBean (AKA Mr. G) that started more than two decades ago. It's now been Ferreira's solo project for years. The name is behind dozens of records that have explored the rougher, harder edges of techno and electro, and much of that output has come through Kombination Research.
In all, the compilation boasts 22 tracks: 16 were pulled from The Advent's back catalog, with an emphasis on early work on Kombination Research, and three are previously unreleased. Cuts from from Murat, Joey Beltram and Davide Squillace, which originally appeared on split EPs opposite tracks from The Advent, rounds out the set. While that previously released material came out on vinyl and (occasionally) CD, this marks the first time any of those productions will have been put on digital formats.
