- The Greek producer will release his second solo LP through DFA in October.
Larry Gus has announced his second album, I Need New Eyes, set for release on October 2nd.
The second album from DFA associate Panagiotis Melidis sees him change his approach. Where Melidis's first LP, 2013's Years Not Living, prominently featured samples and "a dense amount of layers and polyrhythms," this new one employs "clearer songwriting structures" to explore "his obsessions, anxieties and inadequacies, namely failure, humiliation, subservience, submission, and comparisons with other musicians' careers," according to DFA.
The Greek producer's career stretches back to the mid-2000s, when he used to play in a band called Ginger. He's lived in many different parts of the world in recent years and currently calls Athens home after a spell in Milan. Melidis was the subject of a documentary called My Friend Larry Gus, which debuted last year and is available to watch here.
