- Due out next month, Inflatable Hope will be the first solo vinyl release from Chris Jeffs in more than a decade.
A new Cylob EP, Inflatable Hope, is upcoming on Milo Smee's freewheeling techno and electro label Power Vacuum.
Cylob counts as the most prominent alias of the UK-born, Berlin-based artist Chris Jeffs, whose experimental blend of IDM, electro and ambient regularly featured on Rephlex in the '90s and early '00s. These days he focuses on releasing digitally, including an album from the beginning of the year, The Quantum Loonyverse, through his own label, Cylob Industries—in fact, Inflatable Hope is his first full vinyl release since 2004. (A Cylob track did appear on a Power Vacuum Vectors compilation EP back in March.) For this EP, Jeffs sent in more than 100 tracks, and ultimately seven were selected and organized by Power Vacuum boss Smee (AKA Bintus).
