Jacques Renault, Seth Troxler and many others are playing the Miami gathering this week.
Miami's Art Basel week kicks off today, and will run until Sunday, December 7th.
The annual international art show happens every December in Miami, and makes a handy counterpart to the bigger, more dance-oriented Winter Music Conference that takes place in March. This year's selection of electronic music programming—with a smattering of label showcases, Miami heavy-hitters and visiting party promoters—offers the usual mixture of big names and more under-the-radar selections.
Some of the main attractions include Dixon and Recondite at a Life And Death showcase on Thursday, a handful of appearances from Lee Foss (plus Hot Creations rising star Patrick Topping), Marco Carola opening his Music On Miami residency and some high-profile back-to-back sets—among them Seth Troxler playing alongside The Martinez Brothers and all-night-long affairs from Sasha & Dubfire and Matthew Dear & Carl Craig. Guy Gerber also has a special performance lined up for tonight.
Other notable events include Fuck ART Let's Dance with Radio Slave, a Horse Meat Disco party, a showcase for Brooklyn's Bossa Nova Civic Club with Jacques Renault and Aurora Halal, a Honey Soundsystem gig and Clockwork on a boat.
