- The 19-track set serves as a companion piece to the label's recently announced book.
Soul Jazz Records have revealed details of a compilation to sit alongside its forthcoming disco cover art book.
A Fine Selection of Independent Disco, Modern Soul and Boogie 1978-82 comprises 19 tracks. The music was compiled by Disco Patrick, who was responsible (alongside Patrick Vogt) for putting together Disco: An Encyclopaedic Guide To The Cover Art Of Disco Records, a 360-page book that displays 2,000 album covers and 700 12-inch sleeves from the 1970s and '80s. A Fine Selection... opens with a mix of The Fantastic Aleems by recent RA Exchange subject John Morales, and also contains rare productions from Patrick Adams and Peter Brown. It'll be available on double-CD and digital formats, as well as two separate volumes of double-vinyl (with free download code). The book is due out on November 3rd, with the compilation following on November 17th.
