- Available on a wooden USB key, the ten-track release arrives four months on from Jack Dunning's debut LP.
Untold will release an album called Echo In The Valley through his own Hemlock Recordings label.
The LP arrives four months after Jack Dunning released his debut album, Black Light Spiral. It comprises ten tracks, all carrying a loose titular theme ("The Miller," "The Messenger," "The Innkeeper," etc.) As FACT report, clips are streaming over at Boomkat's website.
So far the only format listed for the album is a wooden USB key limited to 100 copies. As well as containing the tracks in .wav, the USB is housed in a "hand-finished box, oil stamped, tied with leather rope, lined with hand-cut Welsh slate," according to Boomkat. It's not yet known if the album will come out on any other formats.
The album seems to contain the fruits of Untold's current interest in modular synthesis. He's recently played a string of live shows with his modular setup—including a session for London's A Modular Revue series with Blawan back in June—and sees him presenting a less pummelling sound than the one heard on Black Light Spiral.
Update: Untold's website has been updated to reveal that Echo In The Valley will also see release as a free download on August 11th. While the USB contains separate tracks, the free download is presented as a mix.
