The mercurial beatmaker's second album will land on August 25th.
Rustie's second album, Green Language, will arrive on Warp Records in August.
Green Language's title is a nod to "a language that’s non-dualistic, that speaks to you directly to your emotions without the mind interfering with the message," says Rustie, real name Russell Whyte. "And music is like that for me." It features collaborations with D Double E, Danny Brown, Gorgeous Children and Redinho.
Warp says the LP was "written and recorded at 4 AM to the sound of birdsong in a remote location in his native Scotland, influenced by nature, birds and sunrise." The label adds that it was inspired by "post-rock bands, such as Godspeed You! Black Emperor and My Bloody Valentine, trance and the Glasgow electronic scene he helped to mould."
Green Language arrives three years on from Whyte's debut LP, Glass Swords, a gleaming, maximal record described by RA's Andrew Ryce as "a place where pleasure is the only constant."
Rustie will hold an album launch party at Oval Space in London on September 18th. Tickets are available here. You can watch the official video clip for "Raptor" below:
