- Es Cub was inspired by the German producer's sabbatical in Ibiza.
Manuel Tur will release his next album on May 19th.
Es Cub follows on 2012's 0201 LP, and will again come on Jimpster's Freerange Records. The record was written during a year-long stay in Ibiza at his father's property, where he built a small studio called "the cube" (hence the title). Tur reportedly spent his time on the White Isle "in the hills amongst fig and almond trees just reading, watching films and contemplating his future musical direction." Regardless of whatever pastoral ideas that might bring up, the ideas birthed there ("little finger exercises and sonic experiments") nevertheless bloomed into full-on house tracks.
“The album is like a diary or sonic photo album from this time [in Ibiza], as cheesy as this sounds" says Tur in the press release. "It's no musical manifesto or a concept album or anything too serious though. I've done most of the tracks in a couple of hours.”
