- Ultima II Massage will see release through Ghostly in May.
Tobacco (of Black Moth Super Rainbow) will release his next solo LP on May 13th.
The man born Tom Fec is a busy artist—in addition to a solo career as Tobacco where he's racked up a handful of EPs and two albums on Anticon, he's a member of the even-more-prolific Black Moth Super Rainbow psychedelic collective, and last year produced an album with Zackey Force Funk to boot. Ultima II Massage comes four years after his last solo full-length, Maniac Meat, and also marks his debut on Ghostly.
The record reportedly carries a theme of damage over its 17-track length, touching on hypnagogic pop elements, VHS nostalgia, Boards of Canada, new wave and, as usual, a healthy helping of vocoder. "I spent a lot of time breaking it in all the right places," says Fec in the album's press release, adding that "it feels like a definitive end to a concept I've been trying to perfect forever."
