The second half of March will see Frahm cross the pond with fellow Erased Tapes artist Douglas Dare.
Berlin-based pianist and composer Nils Frahm will embark on a tour of North America later this month.
Frahm has been credited on more than a dozen full-length releases over the past nine years or so, and his most recent solo LP, the wide-ranging live album Spaces put out on Erased Tapes back in November, earned high marks here on RA—not to mention a spot on our top albums of the year.
For this set of bookings across the US and Canada, Frahm will link up with Douglas Dare, a London artist who recently announced plans for his his own album on Erased Tapes, Whelm, due out in May. The two artists will each play sets at fourteen shows in twelve cities over the span of barely two weeks, with the tour starting on the West Coast by way of LA's Bootleg Theater on Saturday, March 15th. Early and late shows have been confirmed for the Triple Door in Seattle on the 18th and Glasslands in Brooklyn on the 26th, and Frahm and Dare's trek together finishes up in Bethesda, Maryland on Friday the 28th. Frahm has one more gig that weekend: an appearance at Knoxville's Big Ears Festival, whose three-day lineup also boasts the likes of Steve Reich, Jonny Greenwood, Vladislav Delay and Tim Hecker.
