- The two artists have teamed up for an LP of dubwise experiments.
Deadbeat and Paul St. Hilaire have partnered on a new album, The Infinity Dub Sessions.
Both artists are synonymous with dub music: Deadbeat, AKA Scott Monteith, is a well-known exponent of dub techno, while St. Hilaire, also known as Tikiman, has a voice that's synonymous with dubwise music, having appeared on countless Rhythm & Sound records. The pair met at a Micro Mutek event in Montreal a decade back, and have performed live together occasionally since. Their eight-track LP will see release on Monteith's BLKRTZ label on double-vinyl and CD. Taking nearly one year to produce, it uses Scott Monteith's Infinity Dubs series as a starting point, with St. Hilaire "at his most militant, poetic, fierce and flowing," according to a press release.
