- The latest from the North Carolina-based experimental artist is set for December release.
The latest album from Secret Boyfriend, This Is Always Where You've Lived, is set for December release on Blackest Ever Black.
The project of North Carolina-based Hot Releases founder Ryan Martin, Secret Boyfriend has been churning out cassettes and split 12-inches since 2009. This Is Always is his first vinyl long-player, and given how underground he's kept things so far, it's almost certainly his highest-profile release yet. We're not sure we could sum up the 12 tracks here better than the press release, which calls This Is Always a "hard-edged synthesis of downer folk, small hour tape experiments, noise etudes and basement-mildewed pop for edgeland fuck-ups, wanderers and malconents."
