- The Swedish label today announced details of its first artist album.
Shadowy European duo Usio will release their debut album, Kuwa Huru, in February through Studio Barnhus.
The Stockholm-based imprint—described by RA's Philip Sherburne as "impish"—is fronted by Axel Boman, Kornél Kovács and Petter Nordkvist. Launched in 2010, Studio Barnhus has put out a wide range of material, ranging from deep house to dub, edits, techno and experimental music from the likes of Jesper Dahlbäck, Ex-Pylon and Abdulla Rashim, with Boman and Kovács also contributing heavily.
Studio Barnhus's first artist album comes from shadowy European duo Usio, with the label describing the eight-track Kuwa Huru LP as a mix of "afro-beat influenced house jams" and "starlight spangled techno compositions." The record will be released on double vinyl with a download code offering digital versions of the album and five additional tracks.
For an idea of what to expect from Kuwa Huru, the label are currently streaming snippets of the album on their Soundcloud page.
