Cambio, out this week, features exclusive tracks from Sepalcure, Machinedrum, Lando Kal and others.
Percussion Lab has released a new compilation called Cambio.
The New York-based outfit started out as a college radio show founded by Sepalcure's Praveen Sharma back in 2002, but has since evolved into an online community with a blog, podcast series and somewhat regular events promoting underground electronic music. The compilation is a benefit for the non-profit organization, which does not host advertising or any other kind of revenue-generating content on its website or radio shows.
Cambio features new and exclusive tracks from many of the North American artists that have appeared on Percussion Lab in the past, including Sharma himself (appearing with Machinedrum Sepalcure and on his own as Braille), Ghostly International artists Shigeto and Mux Mool, Lazer Sword member Lando Kal and Berlin-based Torontonian XI. The compilation has been released via bandcamp, with a pay-what-you-want model at a minimum of 99 cents.
Money raised from the compilation will also go towards funding a new event series which will kick off in Brooklyn on January 12th, 2013, featuring Percussion Lab regulars Braille, Archie Pelago, Enoe, Contakt and Nooka Jones.
