Kyle Hall and Jay Daniel will play back-to-back at parties in San Francisco, Chicago and Detroit this month.
Many people know Hall as the widely loved Detroit DJ who hit it big when he was still a teenager. Daniel, though he keeps a lower profile, shares many of his peer's credentials, having been an active part of Detroit's music scene since a young age (his mother is Naomi Daniel, a vocalist featured on numerous Planet E tracks). Together the duo run the Fundamentals party at Motor City Wine, and earlier in the year they played a well-received set together at Movement Festival.
In San Francisco on Friday, they'll headline a "Made In Detroit" version of As You Like It at Beatbox, along with fellow Motor City natives like Jason Kendig and Carlos Souffront. The following night, Hall and Daniel will head to Chicago's Smart Bar to help launch Hugo Ball, a new all-vinyl party with roots in Justin Long's erstwhile Dotbleep residency. Long and fellow Chicago veterans Nathan Drew Larsen and Samone Roberts will all take turns on the decks.
Following those two appearances (and just before Hall's debut in Australia), the duo will be back at Motor City Wine on Saturday the 22nd to bring Fundamentals out of its summer hiatus.
