- The experimental festival will return to Essen for three days in October.
- This year's Denovali Swingfest will take place at Weststadthalle Essen from October 5th through the 7th. Now in its sixth year, the experimental festival is an offshoot of Denovali Records, a label based in Bochum, Germany. Aside from the avant-garde artists that make up the program, one thing that makes the festival unique is its "renunciation of the headliner principle"—everyone on the bill is treated equally, and given equal set lengths. This year's bill includes Moritz Von Oswald Trio, Murcof, Philip Jeck and American drone outfit A Winged Victory for the Sullen.
