- 50 Weapons will release Antony Williams' first full-length as Addison Groove this spring.
Antony Williams will release Transistor Rhythm, his first album as Addison Groove, this spring on 50 Weapons.
Williams is a Bristol-based DJ and producer who also makes music as Headhunter, the name he debuted under in 2006. After making a name for himself on some of bass music's most respected labels (Tempa, Tectonic), he put out his first record as Addison Groove in 2010: Footcrab, an infectious footwork-inspired tune that was one of RA's favorites of that year. Word of an album on Modeselektor's 50 Weapons label first surfaced, however discreetly, last fall in a message on the back of the limited edition one-sided 7-inch Addison Locked Groove, which read: "sometimes the less you know, the better. curiosity has killed many cats and when you push yourself too far, crack will be the one that keeps your sanity" followed by "Addison Groove album out on 50weapons in 2012."
Transistor Rhythm, which takes its name from Williams' label Transistor, features all previously unreleased tracks. It will come out in Europe at the end of March, with UK and US releases to follow a few days later. Five tracks that appear on the CD and digital version are not included on the regular vinyl release, though four of them will be available on a limited edition triple-LP on colored vinyl.
