- The German DJ and producer will release his first full-length through Danza Macabra Records.
Patrick Zigon will unveil his debut album, The Alpha State, this October.
The Konstanz-based producer, born Patrick Schmutz, has put out tracks and remixes on the likes of Highgrade, Galaktika and Coccoon since 2003, although The Alpha State is his first attempt at an artist album. The LP was originally expected last September on Puzzle Traxx; instead, Zigon will debut on Slovenian label Danza Macabra Records run by Martin Rojnik and Edin Cuturi.
Schmutz has been a strong presence in the club scene of Southern Germany's Lake Constance region since the mid-'90s and The Alpha State was recorded in his Traumraum ("dream room") Studio in the area, his native Konstanz, over the course of a year. The LP is said to be an exercise in soul-influenced tech house; it features a number of guest artists, including German reggae band Caaramelo Criminal on its first single "Momento Magico," which was released last month, and Colombian DJ Paulo Olarte.
