- Antye Greie has a new album due out in October.
German experimental artist Antye Greie, also known as AGF, will release a new album this October called Beatnadel.
Greie is probably best known for her collaborations: she co-produced Ellen Allien's 2008 album SOOL, has done two full-lengths with her longtime partner Sasu Ripatti (AKA Vladislav Delay), and last year teamed up with Gudrun Gut for Baustelle, a construction site-inspired LP with a remix compilation on the way. But the so-called "electronic sculptor/poet" is even more prolific on her own: Beatnadel ("Beat Needle") will be her second solo album this year after Gedichterbe, which came out in June. The record is classic AGF: glitchy, crystalline production paired with Greie's own oblique poetry, or in the case of "Lingu-tik," a recording of American linguist and political activist Noam Chomsky. Like most of her recent work, it will see release through her own label, AGF Producktion. Samples of the tracks are available on the album's official website, along with some choice quotes and lyrical excerpts.
