The tech house establishment turns five with a two-disc collection and a tour.
UK label Leftroom are celebrating their fifth anniversary with a compilation and a world tour.
Owned by DJ and producer Matt Tolfrey, Leftroom is a well-established outlet of minimal, house and tech house (and in the sole case of Marc Ashken's Skream Remixes EP, dubstep). 5 Years of Leftroom looks back on the label's catalog so far, while also showcasing a bit of new material: the collection features new collaborations by Waifs & Strays, Matthew Burton and Kate Rathod, Oscar G and Lazaro Casanova, and Tolfrey with INXEC. Those three tracks will come out digitally and on vinyl later this year, and the rest of the collection will be released digitally only.
Meanwhile, Tolfrey and other core artists will be appearing at 5 Years of Leftroom parties around the world through the summer. The tour includes stops at Sankeys, fabric and Ultra week in Miami. The revolving cast of DJs along for the ride features INXEC, Russ Yallop and Pablo Cahn, with a raft of other artists showing up for one-off gigs.
