- A second round of the New York producer's reworks will see release this fall.
Strut has announced a new collection of edits by veteran DJ Danny Krivit, entitled Edits By Mr. K 2.
With a career spanning back to the mid '70s, Krivit is one of the giants of New York clubland. After getting his start at The Roxy, he went on to play regular gigs at venues like Area and Danceteria, and in 1996 became a resident at Francois K's famous Body & Soul Parties. As a producer, Krivit was always best known for his edits of old soul and disco tracks, releasing more than 300 as Mr. K. Strut first documented this body of work in 2003 with Edits By Mr. K, and have now unearthed another batch of Krivit's reworks. The new collection boasts ten of Krivit's classic edits, including versions of old soul tunes like "Life & Death" by Chairmen of the Board and Patrice Rushen's "Music of the Earth."
