The Toronto-born outfit will celebrate their tenth with a European tour.
Minimal and techno label Dumb Unit is gearing up for a European tour in celebration of its tenth anniversary.
Founded in Toronto by DJ and producer Jeremy P. Caulfield, Dumb Unit began as a platform for then-fledgling artists like Falko Brocksieper, Adam Marshall and Caulfield himself. The imprint moved to Berlin in 2003, where Caulfield teamed up with Ingo Ginsera of Exercise One. Since then, the imprint has put out more than 50 12-inches by artists like Elon, Lee Curtis, Maetrik and Mike Shannon. Later this summer, the label will release its first album, by Argentinian artist Seph, details of which are still forthcoming.
Over the course of the next few months, Dumb Unit artists will play over a dozen cities across Europe to mark their anniversary. The jaunt begins next Friday in Berlin and eventually spans from Russia to the UK, culminating in November at Cityfox in Zurich. In addition to Caulfield himself, artists along for the ride include Seph, Lee Curtiss, Ahmet Sisman, Pherox, Cesare vs Disorder, Elon and Dilo.
