Xosar, Lotic, Stephen O'Malley and Insanlar are among the acts confirmed for the week-long event in September.
RBMA will host a festival in Paris from September 19th through 24th.
Following last year's academy, RBMA will return to Paris in September as a week-long festival happening at venues and clubs across the city. Among them is RBMA's former Parisian HQ La Gaite Lyrique, which will host a collaborative performance between Sonic Youth co-founder Thurston Moore and Sunn O)))'s Stephen O'Malley on Tuesday, September 20th. They'll share the bill with techno producer Powell and French noise pioneers Sister Iodine.
On Thursday, September 22nd, the action will take place in Pigalle. Highlights include Matias Aguayo performing with his band the Desdemonas at La Boule Noire, Janus resident Lotic playing alongside Mykki Blanco and Christeene at Folies Pigalle, and ClekClekBoom's Manaré sharing the decks with his brother, Marvy, and father, Siriac, at Titan Club. That night Jarvis Cocker will also bring records from his collection to test the machines displayed at Phono Museum—a Pigalle museum dedicated to the history of recorded sound.
On Friday the 23rd, RBMA will host a talk with French artist Xavier Veilhan, before taking over Le Trabendo with former Tokyo participantsXosar and Palms Trax. They'll share the bill with Paranoid London, Parisian producer NSDOS and Livity Sound's Peverelist, Kowton and Tessela, who will play back-to-back.
The last date of the festival will mark the Paris debut of Baris K's band Insanlar. French electro-funk producer Gary Gritness and Zimbabwean musician Jacob Mafuleni will also bring their collaboration to the stage for the first time that night, while DJ sets will come from Optimo, Tunisian DJ Deena Abdelwahed and Parisian collective Mawimbi.
The full programme can be found on the RBMA website.
